​In this hands-on workshop, you'lle create a stylized vector character from sketch to final color in one focused weekend.

  • Hour 1 – Kickoff & Sketching Concepts
  • Hour 2 – Vector Linework in Illustrator
  • Hour 3 – Coloring & Styling
  • Hour 4 – Finishing & Portfolio Ready Export

​By the end of the day: each participant will walk away with a fully finished, stylized vector character and a repeatable workflow for future projects.
Hour 1 – Kickoff & Sketching Concepts
🎯 Goals: Warm-up, spark creativity, and set up a clear idea.
  • Welcome & intro to the workshop (10 min)
  • Quick overview of character design basics (shapes, proportions, silhouettes) (15 min)
  • Guided sketching activity using starter templates OR free drawing (25 min)
  • Share sketches & select a final concept to move forward with (10 min)


Hour 2 – Vector Linework in Illustrator
🎯 Goals: Build clean digital linework from sketches.
  • Import sketches into Illustrator (5 min)
  • Demo: Pen Tool, Shape Builder, and Layers (15 min)
  • Hands-on: trace and refine sketches into clean line art (35 min)
  • Q&A + group check-in (5 min)
Hour 3 – Coloring & Styling
🎯 Goals: Add expressive personality through color.
  • Intro to color palettes and mood (10 min)
  • Demo: Applying flat colors + adding simple shading/highlights (15 min)
  • Hands-on: participants color their character (30 min)
  • Group feedback + tips for polish (5 min)


Hour 4 – Finishing & Portfolio Ready Export
🎯 Goals: Finalize, export, and celebrate!
  • Add finishing touches/details (15 min)
  • Exporting artwork for web/print/portfolio (10 min)
  • Showcase: everyone shares their completed character (20 min)
  • Wrap-up: next steps, resources, and encouragement to keep creating (15 min)
